Hey everyone, I've been very busy with classes so I havent been getting any recipes up but I recently subscribed to Recipe.com and I've been getting emails with new ones every day. I'll get them all up by the end of the week but for now here is a cheap recipe for baked ziti supreme...
Ingredients:
1lb ground beef
1 Chopped onion (1/2 cup)
1 jar (24 ounces) Prego® Fresh Mushroom Italian Sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
5 cups ziti
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Directions:
1. Boil water in a pot and cook ziti and drain
2. Cook the beef and onion in a saucepan on medium-high heat until the meat is browned, drain fat.
3. Stir the sauce, 1 cup mozzarella cheese and pasta into the saucepan. Pour the mixture into a 3-quart baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbling.
I made this the other night and it turned out great. The ingredients were cheap and I had most of them already so I didnt need to spend much to make it. I ended up making a side dish of garlic bread that went great with it. A cheap and easy way to make garlic bread at home is to butter a couple slices of bread and then sprinkle garlic powder onto the butter. After that all you have to do is toast the bread and serve. Since I learned to do that I haven't bought garlic bread because it's so much cheaper to just make some.
